Term 3 begins.

Welcome back to another great term.  So many different opportunities to learn new and exciting things.

However I would like to start by looking back...........as far back as the last week of term 2.  It was a bleak Thursday morning and the tension in the air was almost unbearable.  This day would be the one where human endurance, courage and will-power would be on display.
It was the morning of the senior school skip off.  Four worthy competitors from each class would battle it out for the supreme reward of being crowned 2017 Skip Off Champ.
Room 12 had students that had smarts, they would be using every trick in the book to beat every challenger.  They had years of experience  behind them and had shown mental toughness before.
Room 10 had two of the fittest girls in the school (probably in the whole community).  They would not be giving up without a fight.
Room 9 students felt the weight of pressure placed on them by their teacher who begged, nagged, pleaded and begged some more for a win.  This was going to be an epic battle.
Each student took their place and prepared to begin.  The timer started and the battle was on.  Students and teachers from the sideline cheered and encouraged their classmates.  I had every finger and toe crossed.
A lapse in concentration saw the first skipper (from room 9) stumble out of the competition.  As the time went on each challenger fell away until there were only two titans remaining. Room 9 and 10 had made it to the final.  Each girl had been skipping for over 7 minutes.
The crowd grew quiet, each of us willing both girls strength to continue on.  At 9 minutes 49 seconds the runner up lost concentration and handed the win over to Limiteti from room 9.  I was incredibly proud of her as she collapsed onto the ground after a staggering 9 minutes 52 seconds of skipping.
Congratulation Limiteti and even thought I did so much begging and pleading it turns out that every cloud does have a silver lining.  Well done 2017 Skip Off Champ - Miss Limiteti.
